A while back, my good friend Mike Myers informed me about the Southeastern University's annual Leadership Summit. He mentioned how the school would bring in some of the top leaders in the country, if not the world, every year to share on leadership. The line-up of speakers for the 2010 Summit is pretty amazing. If it wasn't for the price, and if I had to choose, I'd probably skip out on Catalyst West and attend the Summit (sorry guys).Anyway, I was poking around their site and downloaded a couple free podcast/sermons from Erwin McManus and Craig Groeschel. I just listened to the Craig Groeschel message and was challenged, especially by his benediction; a Franciscan prayer. Check it out:
May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and to turn their pain into joy.
And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.
Amen. May it be so in my life.
